Kohima, February 9: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland unit on Monday held a press conference at its State Head Office in Kohima to deliberate on the Union Budget 2026–27, underscoring its focus on development, connectivity and youth-centric initiatives for the Northeast.
The briefing was led by Kirti Vardhan Singh, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, alongside Nagaland’s Minister for Tourism and Higher Education Temjen Imna Along, and BJP advisor Kropol Vitsu.
Addressing party workers and the media, Singh said the Northeast remains a cornerstone of the Union Government’s development strategy. He noted that the Budget provides enhanced allocations for connectivity, tourism and youth-focused programmes, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an inclusive India that balances infrastructure growth with climate resilience and social responsibility.
Singh described the Budget as a significant milestone towards building an Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat, adding that sustained Centre–State coordination would ensure national policies translate into tangible progress across districts in Nagaland.
