Itanagar, February 4: The 5th Session of the 8th Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh commenced on Tuesday with an address by Hon’ble Governor K. T. Parnaik (Retd).

In his address to the House, the Governor reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to building a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Arunachal Pradesh. He outlined the government’s development roadmap guided by the Panch Pratigya, which focuses on empowering youth, strengthening livelihoods, protecting the environment, harnessing green energy and promoting responsible tourism.

Lt. Gen. Parnaik emphasised that balanced development must go hand in hand with environmental conservation, particularly in a biodiversity-rich state like Arunachal Pradesh. He highlighted the importance of creating sustainable livelihood opportunities while safeguarding natural resources for future generations.

Calling upon all Members of the Legislative Assembly to work together in unity, the Governor urged collective efforts to realise the aspirations of the people and contribute meaningfully towards the national vision of Viksit Bharat.

The Governor’s address set the tone for the session, underscoring cooperation, inclusive growth and sustainable development as key priorities for the state.
