The championship, held from June 2025 to January 2026, consisted of five rounds with a total of ten races. Lalnunsanga finished first in two races and secured second position in four races during the season, earning him the overall runner-up position in his category.
Congratulating the young racer, Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar said the state government takes pride whenever Mizo athletes achieve success, particularly at the national level. He noted that Lalnunsanga’s performance has brought recognition to Mizoram and described it as a matter of collective pride for the state.
The Minister also lauded the efforts of the Mizoram Motor Sports Association (MIMSA), stating that motorsports is an expensive discipline and despite limited budgetary support from the Mizoram State Sports Council, the association’s dedication and commitment deserve appreciation.
Speaking on the occasion, Lalhmuchhuaka, Vice President of the Mizoram State Sports Council, stressed that sports associations should prioritise nurturing athletes selflessly, guiding and supporting them to reach higher levels of achievement.
Lalnunsanga, while addressing the gathering, shared his experiences from the championship and spoke about the discipline, training and challenges involved in competitive motorcycle racing. Representatives of MIMSA also expressed gratitude to the Sports Minister for his encouragement and continued support to motorsports in the state.
The felicitation programme underscored the state government’s commitment to encouraging young sportspersons and promoting emerging sports disciplines in Mizoram.
