The MoA was signed at the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare in Kohima and aims to address critical challenges posed by the state’s difficult terrain and limited accessibility. Through the deployment of drone-based solutions, the initiative seeks to enhance emergency medical supply delivery, support rapid response during disease outbreaks and natural disasters, provide aerial assistance for vector control, and enable geospatial mapping for informed planning and decision-making.

Under the agreement, NGISRSC will be responsible for drone operations, capacity building, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks. The Department of Health & Family Welfare will provide logistical support, inter-departmental coordination, and deployment planning to ensure effective implementation of the programme.

Senior Project Director, NGISRSC, Er. Mhathung Kithan, emphasised the importance of adopting emerging technologies in public health systems. He stated that the integration of drone technology would significantly improve the efficiency, reach, and timeliness of healthcare services across Nagaland.
