Davos (Switzerland), Jan.19: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived in Switzerland on Monday to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, joining world leaders, policymakers, business executives, and international organisations for discussions on global economic growth, innovation, sustainability, and investment.

Soon after reaching Davos, the Chief Minister held a series of interactions with prominent national and international leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu. The meetings focused on strengthening cooperation, exploring investment opportunities, and exchanging ideas on development and governance.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, Assam's participation at the prestigious global forum reflects the state's growing engagement with the international community and its commitment to positioning itself as an emerging destination for investment, trade, and sustainable development.
