Tamenglong, Nov 6: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has extended a warm welcome to several former NSCN-IM and NSCN-U cadres who have joined the Front, calling it a significant step toward unifying the Zeliangrong people under a common cause.
In a press release issued by Louis Gangmei, Secretary of Information & Publicity, ZUF stated that the merging of cadres from various Naga factions marks the strengthening of the “Revolutionary Organization of Zeliangrong Kindred people.” The statement reaffirmed that ZUF’s foundation is built on the Zeliangrong Peoples’ Movement (ZPC), which strives for a secure homeland while aligning with India’s freedom movement ideals.
The release also emphasized that the movement is now engaged in dialogue with the Government of India for a final settlement, stressing that the struggle for the Zeliangrong homeland must precede the larger Naga national movement.
ZUF identified the new entrants as Major Alex Haihing (NSCN-U), Sgt. Maj. Gaisingduan Dangmei (NSCN-U), Capt. Jangkulung Gangmei (NSCN-IM), Capt. Meihuandai Kamei (NSCN-IM), SO Namjuaang Pame (NSCN-IM), Khapur Jacob Malangmei (NSCN-IM) and Cpl. Mayanglung Gangmei (NSCN-IM).
The Front described their decision to join as “exemplary and courageous,” reflecting a true commitment to the homeland’s cause. Concluding the statement, ZUF expressed gratitude to God for “His intervening hands upon our people” and reaffirmed its resolve to work for peace, unity, and the early resolution of long-standing political issues.
