Churachandpur, February 11, 2026: The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur District, has expressed deep concern over a reported scuffle between members of the Kuki and Tangkhul Christian communities in Ukhrul district.

In a press note issued on February 11, 2026, the organisation stated that the incident reportedly arose from a drunken brawl and subsequent misunderstanding, leading to localised tension. It clarified that the matter remains confined to the concerned area and is being addressed by responsible authorities and community leaders.

KSO, Churachandpur District, urged residents not to panic and to remain calm and vigilant. The organisation also appealed to the public - particularly social media users and page handlers - not to circulate or share unverified, misleading, or inflammatory content that could aggravate the situation.
Reassuring the public, KSO affirmed that the safety and security of Tangkhul Christian residents in Churachandpur district would be respected and safeguarded. It called upon citizens to extend full cooperation in maintaining mutual trust and communal harmony.
The organisation concluded by urging all concerned to exercise restraint and work together to preserve peace and harmony in the region.
