Itanagar, October 19: In a historic milestone for Arunachal Pradesh, Miss Tenzin Yangki from Tawang district has become the first woman from the State to join the prestigious Indian Police Service (IPS).

Tenzin Yangki achieved this distinction after successfully completing Phase I training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad. She took part in the Passing Out Parade on October 17, 2025, as part of the 77th RR batch, marching proudly alongside her fellow officers. Notably, the 77th batch of the academy recorded a remarkable 36% female representation - the highest ever.

Her journey from the serene mountains of Tawang to the nation’s premier police academy stands as a shining example of determination, courage, and dedication to public service.

Officials and citizens across the State have lauded her remarkable achievement, describing it as a proud moment not only for Tawang but for the entire State.
